Automotive Culture and Motorsports

"It’s what non-car people don’t get. They see all cars as just a ton and a half, two tons of wires, glass, metal, and rubber, and that’s all they see. People like you or I know - we have an unshakable belief that cars are living entities… You can develop a relationship with a car, and that’s what non-car people don’t get… When something has foibles and won’t handle properly, that gives it a particularly human quality because it makes mistakes, and that’s how you can build a relationship with a car that other people won’t get." - Jeremy Clarkson

Open Road Jerky was built because of a lifelong passion I've had for cars and motorsports. Combining two separate things - Cars and Beef Jerky - into one business. I live a lifestyle that is centered around cars, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

This page is dedicated to celebrating the amazing automotive community. Here, we shine a spotlight on our employees’ rides, the builds of passionate creators, and the stories behind them. Cars are more than machines—they’re expressions of creativity, engineering, and individuality. They’re where friendships are formed, adventures begin, and memories are made. For whatever niche of the automotive world you find yourself in, this page is for you. If you’ve got an awesome build, we’d love to showcase it. Share your car’s story, specs, and any associated social media pages with us by emailing info@openroadjerky.com, and you might see your ride featured here.

  • 2018 BMW 340i xDrive - "BEEF58"

The perfect daily driver. A Stage 1-tuned B58 (a.k.a BEEF58) with a host of tasteful mods done to it. Some say the F3X chassis is the last true 3-Series that BMW made, and I partially agree with that statement. Sleek, elegant, with a timeless design and modern amenities. Not only that, but with ~400whp, it's bound to be an absolute pleasure to rip around town on a daily basis. Do I scrape my front lip everywhere I go? Absolutely. But that’s just part of the charm. It’s a small price to pay for a car that makes every drive feel special.

  • 2001 BMW 540i - "Ernie"

A true classic in the BMW world. Nothing beats having a V8 with a manual gearbox. But don't get it twisted, it's still a 20+ year old BMW with over 180,00 miles. That means constant maintenance and oil leaks. But I'd be lying if I said I regret ever purchasing this car. Is this the greatest 5 Series ever built? That's up for debate. What isn't up for debate is how remarkable this car truly is, and the legacy it left behind is undeniable. From its timeless design to the perfect balance of luxury and performance, the E39 540i stands as a benchmark for what a sports sedan should be. Sure, it's not without its quirks and challenges, but every drive reminds you why enthusiasts hold it in such high regard.

  • 1996 Lexus LS400 - "Govna"

THE perfect car in every way. The Lexus LS400 turns more heads than both BMWs combined. With a legendary legacy and bulletproof engine, it's hard to make a case against the Lexus LS400 being one of the greatest automobiles ever produced.

"Big, bold, and ready to make a name, the Lexus LS400 was, and still is, the best car ever built. Powered by a bulletproof 1UZ-FE, this car is capable of 0-60 in a blistering 7.2 seconds. However, they will be the most luxurious 7.2 seconds of your life" - Need for Speed Hot Pursuit.
